what am I supposed to be doing again?

I got to my office. Tea in hand. Kid at school. I sit down to work. work. work…… What am I supposed to be doing again? No appointments today, which I normally love, but today I can’t think of a single thing I am supposed to be doing. Or all the things I do think of doing, I question their importance. Sound familiar?!

The reason I can help so many women get on track with growing their business in a sustainable way that doesn’t burn them out is because I AM you. I have lived almost ALL of your struggles. As a visual person, I need my thoughts to be put to paper- to SEE it broken down and to come back to it when my crazy brain wants to dive in to something wild or fringe. I come back to my worksheet and remember what the hell I am doing.

This has been an absolute game changer for me. Because as a mom who works part-time while her kids are at school, I don’t have 40+ hours a week to spend on this business. I have mayyyybe 20. So they ALL need to move the needle!

This is a huge part of what I see dragging my clients down. They have a ton of shit on their to-do list that actually doesn’t align with how they want to run their business. Everything is overcomplicated, with way too many steps involved. They are barking up trees that don’t even matter, and spending precious time on things that are unnecessary.

So here is exactly how I help people work backwards from what they want their business and life to feel like and turn it into actionable bite sized steps.

  1. PAINT THE HEAVEN: write a journal entry about your life in 1 year in the most vivid detail. What are your relationships like? How much money are you making? What does it feel like every day? What kinds of clients do you have? What is your agenda that day? How does it FEEL to have this life? Go as deep and as vivid as you can. Your personal life and your business.   2. WORK BACKWARDS: Now think about this future self in 1 year. She is grounded, calm, confident- she has her dream life. Now WHAT did she do to get here? What would have to happen in order to make that dream life come true?

  3. PUT THEM IN ORDER: Distill/group these into the top 5 things. Now put them in order. Each one has a relationship with each other. Which one needs to come first? Second? Third?

  4. DIVE IN: Start with #1 and ONLY do that until it is complete. (this is the hardest part! hellloooo ADHD) The number one problem I see clients struggling with (and I do this exact same thing) is that I want to jump into #3 or #4 because that is what I am excited about… but I need todo the the work of #1 and #2 in order to pave the way for the rest to come to fruition.

  5. COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN: With this work done, it becomes your literal map to the life you want. All you have to do is follow the steps!
