It's not a "HOW" problem, it's a "WHO" problem
This blew my mind when I first heard it.
Because it was so damn true. The things that kept sitting on my “how the hell am I going to do this” list actually SHOULD NOT be done by me! There are literal professionals who LOVE doing my slogs like website programming, bookkeeping, or accounting.
It’s crazy that as Entrepreneurs we think we could and should be able to do it all. And at the beginning maybe thats out of necessity because there are no funds for support. But even that I would question.
Companies grow and scale as fast as the leader can get out of the way of the shit they are not good at. Louder for the people in the back.
THE SOONER YOU GET OUT OF THE WAY, THE QUICKER YOU WILL GROW.
Here are my non-negotiable WHOs you need in your corner.
Bookkeeper/CPA / Having updated financials to reference and make decisions from is KEY!! Paying quarterly taxes, reconciling, and giving you updated financial reports gives you the peace of mind not to worry about it. (mine is great but not taking new clients. If you have a referral, let me know!)
Business coach (shameless plug) / Staring at the same situation from the same perspective over and over is going to end in the same results. This is why so many clients come to me feeling “stuck” and that they have tried everything. They haven’t, they are just not seeing their situation from fresh eyes.
Business friends & community / Being an Entrepreneur is the loneliest job you can do. When you need support, you can’t go to your employees, you are tired of talking to your spouse about it, and your friends don’t get it. You need other business owners who GET IT and have been through it to lean on. Come to my next Coworking event to meet awesome people.
get yourself a financial advisor that makes you feel this safe
personal financial advisor/ mine is Kristin Vanderschick and before her I felt so “behind”. Being an Entrepreneur my whole life I have never prioritized my future wealth, just keeping the business afloat or investing in my business. But Kristin is so empowering. Since working with her, we bought our dream house, and have more saved and invested than ever before!
