is it a feeling? or the truth?
“I’m freaking out. I think I made the wrong decision. It is not a good fit after all. What did I DO?!” she anxiously talked into our voice chat.
Feeling into this energy, something was off. We had crunched the numbers, all the signs pointed to this being the right decision for her. She was so ready a couple days before.
I assured her. “You knew what you were doing when you made that decision. Trust yourself! Even if it’s clunky getting going, it was still the right move. You got this!”
And then I sat with it even more and asked, “Hey, what day are you on your cycle?”
She responded, “HA! just looked. Starting my period tomorrow.”
“I thought something felt off. Do not read into these feelings. If everything feels overwhelming, clear your schedule for the day and go home and get in your pjs. I promise this will pass.”
And THIS is why it is so powerful to acknowledge how different it is to lead in a woman’s body in a paradigm built for men.
Our power is not equal every day. Every day is not another day to conquer and dominate. The growth curve does not need to push steadily upwards every day.
Our feelings ebb and flow. Our power comes in calculated waves. Our limiting beliefs can be expected to show up like clockwork. When we soften into this reality and quit forcing ourselves into the patriarchal box (let’s face it, it is not serving men in business either) we build much more sustainable, relatable, heart led businesses.
There are some days you can move mountains and close huge deals with ease. There are others that are perfect to face hard truths you have been ignoring. Some days are best for no work at all and maybe a slow walk in the woods.
I believe in the harmony of feelings & numbers. It is not all numbers, like the old paradigm. But it is not all feelings either. Feelings are valid. AND they can be easily swayed by lack of sleep (hello mamas), hormonal shifts, or just needing to eat.
So my question for you is, are you leaning heavily on one or the other? Do numbers and feelings feel like cold enemies? Or can they work together to accomplish the same goal?
Because they are BOTH the best tools you’ve got. You just gotta know when to use them.
